• More Linsay Lohan Controversy?

The message here is that you should not publish anything controversial to Catholicism during holy days/seasons. Let’s see… There’s Christmas and Advent… First Sunday of Advent, Octave of Christmas – Mary Mother of God, Lent… Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Easter, Good Friday, Passover, Pentecost, Holy Trinity, Body and Blood of Christ, Sacred Heart of Jesus, Assumption of Mary, All Saints/Souls Day, Christ the King, Immaculate Conception, and St. Valentine’s and St. Patrick’s day if you like candy and beer. Any Catholics out there (present of recovering) celebrate St. Nick’s Day? I did.

It’s kind of hard not to publish anything during or near a Catholic holiday/season since they seem to have a monopoly on half the year. So what did innocent little Lindsay do (go ahead, chuckle) that ruffled the feathers of rosary bearers? She posed for the cover of Purple Fashion Magazine in an all-white robe with a crucifixion-style pose.

Bill Donohue, head of the Catholic League, told Politics Daily: “Not only is the pose inappropriate, the timing is offensive.”

Donohue also said that it would be proper for her to apologize. Please. The Catholic Church just recently (1992) apologized for the persecution of Galileo. What progress!

This is definitely a minor-league complaint. If there’s any controversy demonstrated here, it lies with the insecurity of the Catholic Church.

I would like to thank those who have read my previous posts here over the last 18 months or so. I am glad I had the opportunity to do so, I enjoyed it. As most know I do not have a problem with stating my point or for that matter dragging anyone regardless through the mud of my mind, after all that is why this blog was created, and of coarse to promote this web site. I have not posted in while for a number of reasons, the biggest is money, and the fact that I have to earn it. I will work 75 days with 1 day off every 14 days, most of days consist of 12.5 hour shifts. After you add in drive time your at 14 hour days, I am not sitting behind desk either, it’s hard physical work. Mentally it’s a fucking none stop marathon. After this last run I spent as much time with my wife and daughter as possible. We had a very nice vacation and holiday (Newton). So no blogs. I am set for another 75 day run, leaving any day now, so, not so many blogs. How ever I do have an iPhone now. Keep in mind that during these periods I am not home nor do I see my family, it sucks in that way and when I am not working I would rather talk to my wife and daughter more than anything else. After all they are my life, they are the most important aspect of me being alive and I need them to know that every chance I get during these outages.
So what to about the blog, well that is not my decision to make. I understand that there needs to be materiel for readers to read. I, and therefore this blog, represent a very set and proud form of thought when it comes to my views and opinions, (Dare I say beliefs) One just happens to be about our president and the future of Atheism in America. I have heard other presidents condemn Atheists to a fault. I have never before in the 40 years that I have been breathing heard any president other than President Obama acknowledge Atheists or speak of Atheists in a positive way. Do people forget that he did not attend the prayer breakfast last year? Is it so easy to forget that he has had religious symbols cover up and/or taken out of view during some events and televised speeches.Think Bush would have ever done that? Want him back? President Obama is a politician, but he is also a president that acknowledges my right not to believe in god. I think as far as religion goes he is in our corner. I also think that if Atheists turn on him, we might not get another one. There is a reason why Atheist politicians do not come out and tell 90% of their voting public that they think their beliefs in a false god are wrong. When they do, Atheists should not jump on the hate wagon with everyone else at every turn. I truly think that President Obama will do more for the Atheist American than any other president before him. That will in turn make it easier for the next Atheist or Agnostic politician to consider running for any public office including the oval one. I support President Obama, my wife even voted for him. I do not think the cuts in the space program are good, however I do not in any way think that we are going to lose the space program or Nasa. Maybe restructuring will make it a leaner machine. Either way I personally have not read the entire budget proposal and I honestly doubt that very many of you have either. The prayer breakfast, he offended religion more with his blatantly apparent misunderstandings of it than any possible harm that was done to Atheists. Dare we forget what the majority of this country thinks of us, I highly doubt one fucking breakfast will change that either way. Even if I think he made a mockery out of it. The Christians sure as hell did not like it, I do not think that is a bad thing.
    Well, there that is.
    As always I am Atheos
    and I am Inherently Human.

Did I mention that I can fly.

    Hello everyone!
I’m deityfree, the new blogger on the block. I’m glad to have been invited to Atheist-R-Evolution (by AtheistRE  via Twitter). You’ll hear more about me later, but for right now I have a bone to pick.

“Civility Powered By Faith” is contained in the title of an article that NPR tweeted today. Ow! My side hurts. I think we’ve seen enough “civility” from faith. Who was it this time to stir the pot? The dumbatic duo Comfort and Cameron? Ol’ Robertson? The Catholic Church? Nope. None other that our fearless leader, President Obama. Now I have half a mind to suspect that he told his audience (at the prayer breakfast) what they wanted/needed/expected to hear. His advice for them included this piece:

“Empowered by faith, consistently, prayerfully, we need to find our way back to civility.”

What bothers me is his preferred method of arriving at civility. It still blows my mind that a large portion of the U.S. (and many other countries) think that if they speak to their sky-daddy, little invisible instructions will fall from the sky and slip into their heads. What would he have said at a secular humanist breakfast?

I can’t bear to put the rest of it on here. It gets worse.
    OK, fine:

“Surely we can agree to find common ground when possible, parting ways when necessary,” the president added. “But in doing so, let us be guided by our faith, and by prayer. For while prayer can buck us up when we are down, keep us calm in a storm; while prayer can stiffen our spines to surmount an obstacle — and I assure you I’m praying a lot these days — prayer can also do something else. It can touch our hearts with humility. It can fill us with a spirit of brotherhood. It can remind us that each of us are children of a awesome and loving God.”

Jesus Christ! Prayer doesn’t do a damn thing! Alright, it does burn more calories than sleeping and it does help to calm some people by giving them false hope. “Awesome and loving God”… my ass.  Has he read the Bible? No seriously. Sit down and read it like Winston Churchill did. I don’t want to hear any of that “we live in the New Testament” crap. The god of the first half is the god of the second. What can help us keep calm in a storm are leaders who are ready to take action in favor of humanity. Of course I don’t mind seeing people kneeling with their hands folded. It helps me distinguish the irrational from those who are using a more effective portion of their brains.

    The story.

Before you ask, yes I am at it again. I’m working on making this website a better place, with more content and changing content. We are going to try to re-think what it is to be an atheist online community. I felt we lacked a certain attitude that people could connect to.

One of the first changes that you are going to see is that we are inviting new people to come blog with us. So don’t be surprised when new post pop up. The site is going to be evolving and changing for the better. Please keep checking back with us. You won’t be disappointed.

This person would make his family get naked on Sundays because the lord told him that “families need at least 5 minutes on Sunday to be naked together”. He told his family to “trust him”, and that he was”the son of God”. Thats right, this guy is Jesus Christ. He told people he thought he was Jesus Christ. This is yet another example of what filling your head full of stupid fairy-tales can do to a person. He told his wife and children,”the world was coming to an end,” and that they needed to “trust him” and that he is “Jesus Christ”. This sick, evil fuck is a devoted Christian. So if he gets up in three days is that going to change Easter? Oh shit, what about Christmas, I really wanted a pony this year, is this going to fuck that up?

People keep preaching the word of God, and unfortunately people keep listening. What is it that our kids should learn about the world and life so that they can have the fullest and best experience while they have their chance at it? Is really that a invisible man in sky wants to be their father? What of all the people that have died in the name of God, these four police officers are not excluded from that classification. This fuck thought God told him to do kill these good people. Nine children lost one of their parents and their lives are forever changed because this one person believed in God. This is unacceptable, to have a society that basis so much on myths that were created by people that fully believed that our planet was flat like a piece of wood is ridiculous. People need to have their foundations in reality if they intend on dealing with life in a rational manner. Some one needs to hold the prison chaplain accountable, after all some one filled this guys head full of the shit that made him think he was talking to God. What did his parents believe in? We all need to think about what it is that we are teaching are children, they will grow up and become adults.

How would that make Christian Parents feel?  How would it make Christians feel if they objected to the schools continuing this daily routine and were given ‘Your Child doesn’t have to say it.’ reply?  What if your child was given a coloring page at school saying ‘In Mohammed We Trust’?

Well I have not posted in while now, not because I do not want to but for reasons that are work related. We have been preparing for the head replacement of unit 1 at the nuclear plant that i am currently working at. We had a unit 2 outage as well to replace the bellows. As of Oct.1 we are in the outage phase. We will be working seven 12 hour shifts for the next 6 weeks. I will post using my iPhone when I can or when I am not dead on my feet. So here is what you do, go to our store and buy a ‘Chimplify your life’ shirt and I will return. Thank you. I do have the occasional chance to ‘use the twitter’  so you can check that out as well. The thought process that makes me an “Atheist” is more than just atheism. Atheism is just a part of my ‘evolution’ of thought. An example of this would be the food that I choose to ingest. I do not eat junk food, fast food, and I do not eat restaurant food period. I do eat processed box foods. We ( my wife, child, and me) buy fresh, organic food and prepare it ourselves. We eat Bison not cow (I really suggest this to everyone, healthy and it is the way red meat should taste. Bison is also highly regulated and must maintain higher standards than the cow industry, and it has less fat than skinless chicken.) We make educated choices on what we put in our bodies, we exercise, my point is that we are healthy, educated people that try to make intelligent everyday decisions. We instill this behavior in our daughter. She does not listen or watch Miley Cyrus but she knows that the Sun is approximately 93 million miles from Earth. She brings her own lunch to school, in her words “…the cafeteria food is not real food, it doesn’t even look real.” She is 5 years old, kindergarden.

My wife and I drive her to school and walk her in to the building (not to class, just by the office) every day. Today as she walks down the hall toward the her class room one of the ladies that work in the office tells her to goto the cafeteria for Friday announcements. She then tells me and my wife that we can go with her. Our daughter went on ahead and after checking in and getting our visitor passes we went also, this took about 3 minutes.

We get in there and our daughter is already sitting on the floor with all the other kids, no tables, the floor. The principle gets up and stands behind a podium that is in the front of the room, says her greetings.  They say the pledge of allegiance (one nation under God) in english, then in spanish. Then they say the pledge to the state of Texas with the same ‘under God’ nonsense. Then came the moment of silence, (to me thats code for prayer) Thats 3 ‘under Gods’ and one moment of silence if your counting, my daughter does not partake in this futile activity. The principle then talks for 1 minute about 9-11, she said ‘” you’re too young to remember but 8 years ago there was a tragedy, a lot of people died, your teacher might talk to a little about it today.” That was it.

Then they bring up 5 people from a restaurant, “Carino’s Italian grill”. Its a chain, all five were over weight and wearing their uniforms. They proceed to tell the grade school kids that Carino’s donated some school supplies and that all the teachers get a coupon for a free desert at Corino’s. Its was a 15 minute long commercial for the restaurant complete with,”bring your parents in and see us at Corino’s.”  My wife had a look of amazement on her face. Then the principle holds her cell phone up to the microphone and plays a bit of the Jonas brothers followed up by a 60 second snippet of Miley Cyrus music. At this point in time I am thinking that maybe the T.A.R.D.I.S. will appear and DR.WHO will jump out and set things straight for the future of these children. No luck.

Insted the principle brigs up another guy, Mr. Bob is what she called him. They had a small projector set up. He played a small portion of a video that asked people to give money to families is Nirwana, Africa. Then he tells the kids,”you know how sometimes you forget things? well everyone of you today, boys and girls, will get a sticker to put on your shirt and when you get home and your parents ask you what the sticker is, you can say, oh I am suposed to give this packet to you…” Then he holds up a multipage folder and continues,” we don’t want you to forget to give this packet to you parents.” He then shows a cut of a video with 2 girls talking like ‘valley girls’ telling the kids that they were going to make a lot of money for their school. He cut this short and then told the kids how they can sell stuff out of a pamphlet to help their own school, because the stuff is made by kids in Nirwana. He even suggested they go to companies and businesses and try to sell stuff for “company employee gifts”. He then showed the kids a pencil despiser and said that it would be place in the cafeteria and that the kids, if they sold 3 items they could get a purple pencil. He also told them to try to sell more than one idem to each person. He threw a ballon out to the kids and they cheered.

When he was done the principle told the kids to get ready to go to class. I immediately walked over to my daughter and got close to her ear and told her, “I know you are smart and you probably already know this but everything they just said, the Carino’s thing and the selling stuff for that man, its all bullshit, don’t buy into it. They just want to use you for their gain. We will talk about this after school. Ok?” she looked at me and smiled and said “I know”, then she put out her arms (all the kids still had their back packs on) and said,” hugs”.

As we were leaving, we had to stop at the front desk to get back my wife’s drivers license, my wife asked if they had let the kids watch President Obama’s address to school kids, the lady said no but if they did you have to sign a permission slip first. They can turn your kid into a fat Carino’s eating, God fearing, inductee of a ‘feed the children by giving me money’ scam artist  but they will not let them listen to the President of the Country they pledge allegiance to tell them to stay in school and get an education.I have one question, what the hell is wrong with people? This is a grade school, they should teach about proper nutrition – not sell our children to Carino’s. This was an infomercial that went on in total between the two of them for over an hour. Help the kids in Nirwana, maybe they should teach the kids where Africa is first. It is a grade school.

One Idea is to bring her to school on Fridays an hour late so she can just go to class and skip the indoctrination. The other option, move to Montana.

Biblical moon and the waters above the firmament. GEN1:1-19

2012 years ago there was not a single human that thought or could even conceive that our sun, the Sun, is on average 93 million miles from Earth. As a matter of fact the general consensus of the time was that the Sun resided in what is now known as our atmosphere. The people perceived the Sun as resting above the clouds but below the massness of blue they saw,( it was also the general consensus that the blue mass was water, Gen1:7). This would put the Sun within 62 miles of the surface of the Earth. Not only did the Sun reside here but there was a second light producing object, smaller than the Sun but large enough to provide humans with light durning the night period. The people of the time had no way of understanding that the Moon is in fact roughly 238,000 miles from Earth and does not produce a bit of visible light. The Moon and Sun shared this vastness with all the little points of light, the stars they saw in the night sky. We see evidence of this Genesis 1:1,19. (It blatantly states this.) If we were to manipulate the space-time continuum and snatch an average person of that time and bring him back here to our time, they would be intellectually lost. They had an understanding of their world, it for the most part was wrong. They found the answers to their biggest questions by creating and adding on to stories and myths. Humans created Gods out of a necessity to understand elements of life that they could not possibly comprehend. They created Gods and other myths as an answer to fear. If we look at the modern belief of God we see it provides the faithful with this same kind of ‘protection’, be it a false one. It keeps the believer safe from the harsh realities of life. An example of this is when a loved one very close to us dies, it might be easier to accept if one believes that they have passed on to another place, a better place with God and ice cream sandwiches that dance on big white puffy clouds. Plus, one day they will go there to and rejoice in the ice creamy reunion with their lost ones and the great protector, their lord, God. This is of coarse not the reality of death. Death is a permanent thing, it is frightening to consider ones own demise or the death of some one you love, it should be. Religion, faith in God, this is like a blanket that covers ones perception of reality, on par with a dirty wax that does not burn well that coats an even dirtier wick. Atheism, the realization that god does not exist, a non-belief of God, this is like a fire, the only fire in fact that can incinerate this ‘dirty wick saturated with the excrement of religion’. I make no attempt to conceal that at one time in the long long ago I believed in God. During that time life went on as it does with humans, people that I loved died and all the unpleasantries of life took there corse, how ever I had my blanket, I felt them but there was always a higher reason for them. God had a plan, this made the harder times easier, it also made my sort comings not so bad, If  God had a plan, a destiny per say, I was not completely responsible for the ’sorrow’ that God placed upon me, he was. But  there is an obvious  problem to the God belief, not only does it protect or coat you, its dirty wax interferes with ones perception of reality. It dims and skews the good in life just as it does the bad. If one is not allowed to experience the truth of death one can not fully and truly experience the magnificence of what it is to be alive. I remember my life when I was a believer and I thought it was fine. I would go for walks in the pine forests of my home state and see the creation of God, trees and rocks, they did not seem incredibly special, just more creations of God, that stuff is easy for God.I thought God had a plan and I was part of it. I thought he looked out for me. Well as I grew and got older, and as I acquired more education my intelligence evolved. As my intelligence increased, in tandem the likely hood of an all mighty creator decreased. I no longer was content with having no real, concrete answers and this made me question more, I even questioned my questions. There was no big event in my life that made me ‘not like God’, I just got smarter. I remember walking down a side walk in my home town, it was skirted with houses and lawns with trees and shrubs, I mindlessly reached out and plucked a leaf from a small aspen and as I looked at it I realized I had never seen a more beautiful leaf. I realize now that at that moment I had absolutely no belief in God left in me. My rational thought process was without the limitations of religion. I understood that with out the process of evolution that leaf and the person holding it would not be. I was a non-believer and the world had more color than I had previously thought possible. That was a long time ago but I will never forget it. It was freedom. Now when I see the pine trees and rocks, the water falls and rivers of my home state, I see the evolution of our planet. I see what I am a product of, what I am a part of. I am nature, I am an animal, I am living proof of evolution. Since my personal Atheist Evolution my life experiences are more significant. Religious people have a major hang up about death. Atheists do not go to clairvoyants or believe in ghosts or angels. These are the things of believers in God and they are an example of the denial that the religious have. A denial of reality. Heaven does not exist. They do this with good things and with goals when they are achieved by believing that they could never have happened with out God. This changes the way they perceive life. Believers do not allow themselves a clear and unfiltered perception of life’s events, they do not experience it to its fullest, they do not understand it. Becoming a non-believer is a natural process of accumulating knowledge, it is an evolution of intelligence. I love life, I understand that this life is once and it needs to lived and experienced with the vigor and crispness only found in the knowledge of the natural way. Life is not about a story made up by frightened men, its about living. I met my wife after I started thinking rationally and stopped believing in God. We have been together for a long time and we have a child. My wife was an Atheist before she met me, our child does not carry the delusional baggage that comes with the belief of god. Not one time have my wife and I looked at each other and thought that when we die we all would be passing around ice cream sandwiches in the sky. We do not depend on a myth or a god to allow us to love each other, we depend on ourselves. We are partners and we a love that is pure, raw life. We understand how import sharing our lives with one another truly is to us. We understand that one day we will die and that the time we spent better have not been wasted. A couple years after we got married my mom died, she was extremely close to me, the knowledge that leads one to atheism made that process real and a natural part of life. When something is understood it can be dealt with in a logical fashion. This evolved understanding that most Atheists possess covers the entirety of  life’s experiences and it makes everything more defined, real, and brilliantly magnificent. One can not appreciated what it is to live and to love when they are sealed in a skin of cloudy religious wax. One does not know what they are really missing until they see and experience it for themselves. Humans are the only creature on this planet that actively refuse to admit what they are by inventing Gods and myths to replace and undermine the true life experience. Atheism is a non-belief in a god or gods.
